I'm writing a bit about the show for SODM and this definitely cleared up some questions I had, not to mention calling Egoyan(!) and Cronenberg to my attention. Much obligedBryce Wilsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17040954580033470664noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5407391624985829089.post-86736754169845911812011-10-27T16:09:27.769-04:002011-10-27T16:09:27.769-04:00Brent:

It's too bad that they had to name it after the film franchise and I understand why they did it but I think that still hurt the show's identity.

The Film Connoisseur:

I also liked FREDDY'S NIGHTMARES as well but the quality of FRIDAY THE 13TH was better, IMO. I found the stories more interesting and the overall concept was pretty cool.

Jeff Allard:

Better late than never, eh?

I agree, that F13: THE SERIES wasd definitely the best of the '80s horror TV shows. Y'know, I had forgotten about all the trouble it had caused over violence and gore. Some episodes still back a punch and I'm amazed that they got away with as much as they did!

As always, thanks for stopping by.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08164105442273577128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5407391624985829089.post-92213264370280833502011-10-27T09:10:18.921-04:002011-10-27T09:10:18.921-04:00I'm late getting to this post but thanks to gi...I'm late getting to this post but thanks to giving F13: The Series a much-deserved shout-out! Horror was booming on TV in the late '80s and, for my money, F13: The Series was the best of the bunch. It's a shame that conservative forces - and chickenshit execs - caused the series to end when it was still a ratings winner but in the end, three seasons was still an impressive run.Jeff Allardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04265550466781988388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5407391624985829089.post-88739918829617771202011-10-18T12:57:45.576-04:002011-10-18T12:57:45.576-04:00They should have given it another name though. I liked Freddy's Nightmare a bit better because we actually did get to see Freddy Kruger.

So this show was something knd of like The Twilight Zone, Tales from the Crypt or Tales from the Darkside? Sounds cool, I think I would like to check this out on dvd.Franco Macabrohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10994905312221715861noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5407391624985829089.post-5940692468954475772011-10-17T13:34:03.764-04:002011-10-17T13:34:03.764-04:00I remember looking forward to the show, although I...I remember looking forward to the show, although I was a bit baffled that it had no ties to the movies. Still it was an interesting set up, and cursed object retrieval is a perfect idea for episodes. I don't recall the series conclusion, but it certainly caught my interest for a while. Great write up! I enjoy the background you included. Definitely adds another element. I'm certainly surprised to hear that Atom Egoyan took an episode.INDBrenthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11606473452389713844noreply@blogger.com
